6. The Slovak Museum of Nature Protection and Speleology in Liptovský Mikuláš
An exhibition about Slovakia's caves, mountains and wildlife. Short enough for younger kids.
7. The Ľudovít Fulla Gallery in Ružomberok
Colourful paintings by one of Slovakia's most distinctive painters. A visit takes about an hour.
8. The wooden church in Svätý Kríž
A huge articular church that holds almost 6,000 people. It's usually open mainly at weekends. More about the lake area
9. The Lúčky waterfall
After rain it has more water and is more powerful. A short stop is enough to see it.
10. The games room, sauna and fireplace at the farmstead
Billiards, table tennis, table football and the pool are free for guests; the Finnish sauna is €10 per session. Sometimes the best plan is to stay put.
Liptov is big and the weather changes across it. When it's raining at Jasná, the sun may be out below Choč, and vice versa. Before a trip, check the rain radar, not just the forecast.
