Gino Paradise Bešeňová

The closest big thermal park to the farmstead, at the western end of Liptovská Mara. It uses geothermal water at up to 39 °C. There are pools both outdoors and under a roof, so it's worth going in summer and winter alike. You're there in 15 minutes and back in the yard by the afternoon.

Tatralandia aquapark

The biggest aquapark in the area, about 4 km from Liptovský Mikuláš. It's mainly a fun park with slides, a covered tropical section that works even in the rain, and a sauna world. School-age kids will enjoy it most.

The Kalameny hot-spring pond

A natural pond of about 10 × 20 metres, a kilometre beyond the village of Kalameny. Water from a 500-metre borehole is around 33 °C all year. Bathing is free; parking costs €5 (for an hour or the whole day). Don't expect changing rooms or a snack bar. It's quietest on weekday mornings. All about Kalameny and Lúčky

Lúčky spa

A spa village below Choč, also known for its 12-metre travertine waterfall in the middle of the village. Check the public wellness offer directly with the spa.

Liptovský Ján

A village east of Liptovský Mikuláš with thermal springs. It's the gateway to the Jánska valley and Stanišovská cave, which has no electric lighting: every visitor gets a headlamp, which kids find a real adventure.

Tips

  • Combine with a trip. Kalameny after Veľký Choč, Bešeňová after Liptovská Mara, Liptovský Ján after the Jánska valley.
  • Weekday mornings are quieter everywhere.
  • Flip-flops and a bathrobe in the car, especially for Kalameny.
  • When you don't feel like going anywhere, the farmstead has a free pool and a Finnish sauna at €10 per session.
